The 2006 Bottom 100 All-Stars

Publication Date: July 18, 2006

And, Streeeetch

It's funny how bad habits take forever to break (like that third Mountain Dew of the day) and good habits (like maintaining the discipline of a regular column schedule) seem to disappear overnight. I apologize for the unintentionally long break, and I promise to give you my usual semi-regular schedule this offseason. I'm going to ease back into it, though, with a short-on-text-and-long-on-numbers column, although it's one that's a favorite in some corners. Here, then, is this year's Bottom 100 All-Star Team, made up entirely of players from teams in the ISR Bottom 100.

Now, to answer a couple of obvious questions: How do you end up in the bottom 100 with a 15-34 record if you have three offensive players this good? UH-H had a team 7.41 ERA this year. Is the ability to get hit 30 times in a college season a skill? Yes, it is. Should you draft for it? I dunno, it would seem to increase the injury risk, but it's repeatable, so I'd probably take a shot. Craig Biggio's going to the Hall of Fame, after all.
